The House of Legends and House of Heralds is a new hub and episode (and allied system) in DC Universe Online that opens up a whole new facet of the game for players to enjoy. The new system allows players to gain access to new factions that will help them level up quicker and to gain access to new costumes. The House of Legends has already been added to the game, but there are three more factions players can gain access to by earning the right to upgrade their ranks. The House of Furies, the House of Devastation, and the House of Assassins are all now open for players to access.
The House of Legends hub is a new, tiered system that lets players invest in different areas of their characters’ lives. You can buy things that will help you in various areas of your character’s life, such as the monetary investment in your character’s health, or the time investment in her skills. The new system gives players a deeper level of personalization and provides a greater reason to play.

Daybreak released House of Legends to the DC Universe Online live servers this week, as promised. This is a no-cost episode for everyone. The Bleed’s titular new center, as well as the new allies system, new daily, updated queue UI, and updated Superman Classic material, are all introduced in this episode.
“Respond to The Monitor’s summons and go to his House of Legends, a new shared hero and villain hub at the crossroads of the universes. A massive danger is approaching, and you and your friends will need to be much stronger than you are right now to deal with it. Everything must change in order to get stronger. This new shared hub, as well as an updated On Duty menu with Quick Play missions, Omnibus scaling content with full rewards and no loot locks, Save the Universe up-leveled classic content, the Allies system, new rewards, access level upgrades, Doctor Fate’s Daily Rewards, and more, are all available in House of Legends. Standard (non-up-leveled) versions of Save the Universe content are also available with enhanced prizes for a short time. Both should be found in your On Duty menu.”
Last spring, Daybreak announced a retooling of the game’s monetization to sweeten the sub deal while also broadening the content offerings to freebie players; the patch notes this week remind players that freemium players have gotten not only the free episodes but also increased roster and currency caps, while subbers have gotten extra rewards, inventory slots, and drop bonuses.
